Big learning curve
If you are a sharp Visual Studio ASP.NET C# web developer you might like BlogEngine. But if you are a Visual Web Developer Express ASP.NET developer forget it. BlogEngine just does not have the support (and widgets) like WordPress. The learning curve for BlogEngine is heavy, the documentation is sparse, and the Admin control panel confusing. That said, if you want complete control over your blog and really know back-end classes and ASP.NET this might be for you. It has tons of classes to play with and lots of code. Be careful to say where your SQL database will be located. When I first setup BlogEngine, I missed the question about where to store the SQL database. I spent hours/days configuring everything the way I wanted. Then I couldn’t find the database! It was stored on another site. So I did a complete uninstall and started over again. In the end I gave up as BlogEngine was much more than I wanted or needed to learn about. I’m now running WordPress with my ASP.NET C# SQL site. GoDaddy has a quick and easy install. Even a novice can setup and configure everything. I didn’t have to learn PHP at all. And GoDaddy also has a very nice mySQL front-end if you really want to tinker with the data.

Good to Start With - Frustrating in the Long Run
This setup quite easy for a novice however the spam that is being generated by the comment fields (enabled or not) has become the bane of my existence. My subscribers are leaving due to the spam generated by their positive comments on my musings. Not something I am very happy with. Not to mention GoDaddy needs to install the upgrades or provide assistance in migrating to another blog. Has a few nasty bugs and errors that don't make sense to the "non-programmer".

A Damn fine Blog!
Haveing used other blogs and even join so far as to build my own CMS previously BlogEngine 1.5 has nearly everything I could want. Even better is that I can tweak it with my own limited skill sets, and the ASP.NET/Blogengine community have so many cool things to add-on that you realy can't beat it. I like this and recommend it.

Best Blog Framework for .Net
Technically this is way better than wordpress in just about every regard (especially performance). But it is pretty hard to be the easy plugin model and the huge community for wordpress. If you're .net centric, this is the number one choice

Nice Tool
Fast, easy setup. Extremely customizable, if you know what you're doing with HTML and CSS.
