Keeps getting better every release.
I have been using Geeklog for a very long time, on many different HOSTS. This install was the easiest one yet. Very mature software. Once you check for security update & tweak the install to your liking you good to go. IMHO "one of the best".

Very Simple & Easy to Use
I found geeklog to be extremely easy to use and very simple to figure out. I installed, configured, and used it with absolutely no problems. I was very sad to see, however, so little ongoing development, plugins, layouts, etc. As I learn more about programming, perhaps I will be able to write these elements myself, but for now, I need a little more hand-holding.
Decided not to use it.
Tried it once, but security problems made me decide to leave it be.
zip compared to wordpress
this blogware is bery simplistic and non intuitive compared to wordpress
Second only to Scoop
Geeklog is a very powerful blogging tool. I believe only Scoop is better on the linux platform (such as DailyKos.com). I run my own blog with Geeklog. It has not really been tested for volume of traffic it can handle, but I find it completely easy to manipulate its system. Cons: Installation and configuration is very difficult and not for the faint of heart. A simple blog can be created with a basic install, but it is very unsecured. I had anonymous comments all over the site in the first week. Geeklog.net claims this has been improved in 1.4.1. Also, there is an ugly process necessary to create a simple url for reaching the site. I have been using a redirect script because it is easier.
