For Wiki-fans only
The installation worked great. MediaWiki wasn't what I was looking for, but the install was over in 5 minutes and everything was up and running fine and dandy. But be prepared: The configuration is a bit old-school at best, having to upload configuration files directly to the server (i.e. no web-config)

does not work on windows server
GoDaddy's IIS configuration causes wiki pages that do not exist to return the 404 page instead of returning the generated MediaWiki page. This is a huge problem because going to the URL of a page that does not exist is how you add new pages to the wiki in the first place. I brought this issue up with tech support but they didn't acknowledge it as a problem on their end with their configuration. It was suggested that I install MediaWiki manually rather than using GoDaddy's installer interface. I haven't tried this but I doubt it would make any difference because of the inherent windows server configuration issue. (At least i'm assuming it's an IIS configuration issue because that's what i found out when searching around about the 404s with MediaWiki.) Anyway, this is making me wish i went with a Linux plan instead, or another host all together.

Stable and useful
I had no problem using it, except maybe for some difficulties trying to get it to look exactly like I wanted to.

Word on MediaWiki
With MediaWiki the easy stuff is REALLY easy to do. But the hard stuff, ironically, has holes in its documentation. A lot of the stuff on MediaWiki you are expected to be born with the knowledge. Example topics is templates and extensions. Once you figure it out your good to go and everything is simple enough. But there is a lot of confusion that happens with MediaWiki because of the holes in its documentation.

Need a Wiki then install this!
Media Wiki is rock solid. Apart from anything else than can be said, it's fun to work with! I have yet to encounter many problems with a few installs and am always willing and able to assist people with application customization or just to answer basic questions.
