Crippled program frustrates - real version is too pricey
Program is too crippled to be useful. Really, the developer just wants to upsell you to a $200 program. If I want a $200 program, I'll buy something else. I don't mind a few key limitations, but they don't even let you change the primary categories. Page customization is also disabled and lame. This would not represent my website well at all. Bottom line: Disappointing.
To much work for Free
The free version is okay, but they want you to pay for the full version to get the full effect!
READ BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Hi Folks, Don't waste your time with this free version, because for every little useful feature you go to setup, the program shows a nice little message: This feature is not available in the Free version of the program! The paid version may be useful, but surely I am not going to pay $49.95 for experimenting! Uninstalled right away!
Open source is free as in beer
When you use a demo application or any application in particular the fact is you have to walk into the situation with some knowledge of what you are doing. There appears to be countless reviews of folks that really should have HIRED somebody to set them up. There really is a reason schools teach programming and courses are available in Vo-Tec's. Because it is a trade, a skill and must be learned. Wildly stabbing in the dark pretending you have a good web concept is fine but understand personal limitations if you are walking into a situation where you are developing a technology for people to use. That's exactly what all these tools are, social TECHNICAL tools. This isn't facebook or twitter, these tools require a modicum of technical ability and understanding of business continuity before you even open the door to offer a web service. AFAIK the product works just fine. The code is well documented and written to the level a boob with a PHP for Dummies book could understand it. Complain about "free" all you would like, the fact is you got something for free. The vendor offers a full blown dummy version for a small fee. And by small I mean it's under a grand, if you don't have a grand, try blogger. It's obvious that some of the reviewers here weren't serious about starting an online business in the first place on three fronts. Come with skill, time and come with money. If you don't have skill or time you can use money. If you have skill you don't need as much money to start. Time. I haven't met anyone that can make that, when I do I'll spend every last penny investing in it. Pretty simple. To the Noah folks, good product and great documentation. Buying the full version on Monday for the web mistress to setup while I focus on other things. I ended up demoing this on another host and liked the ease of slapping a template together with easy to read css tags. I EVEN CHANGED THE BACKGROUND AND LOGO. Easy as read
It's free for a reason!!!
The free version is limited. You cannot remove their logo, in fact the navigation is quite confusing. Soent 9 hours testing it and now have a headache...
