Really, really unintuitive
I thought mediawiki was hard to setup, but after trying pmwiki, mediawiki's mana from heaven. Editing php files by hand? Cookbooks? Recipes? What?! No thanks. Decided to stick with Wordpress, which keeps a log of changes just as good or better than any wiki, only prettier.
If you doubt this application...
...go take a look at my website and see what you can do with this software. PmWiki is the bomb. Yes, you need to be adept at some coding, but if you are, the sky is the limit! Or you could just do the install from here and pay me to sort it all out for you. ;) This seriously some great software. I'm really glad I chose it over Wordpress/etc...
It works just fine.
It bugs me when people write reviews saying "It doesn't work!" when what they really mean is "I couldn't figure it out in 5 minutes of poking around!" It works, I have never gotten an error, but making changes requires reading the help files. Imagine that. RTFM, and it works fine. Doesn't have all the fancy extra stuff that MediaWiki has, but it does the job.
Minimal Wiki - extremely customizable
Install was simple - setup and customization is a bit more complex. Support is based in a users groups and documentation is written by developers and is not particularly usrer friendly. If you work at it and have the good luck to find some helpful developers, it can set up a usable wiki.
Don't Waste Time.
I installed this to play around with it. However it does not work correctly and is too much of a pain to use. There is no real administration area and installing themes has to be done trough editing php files...

Themes refuse to display and updates made to the config file refuse to take.
