KHHard, sorry. Must be your computer, not SQLyog
Sorry, khhard, you are simply wrong about SQLyog. If you are having "buggy" problems it is very likely your computer or network connection. The only qualification I have to this opinion is that I do not use the SQLyog version distributed here by GoDaddy hosting. I have owned and used SQLyog Enterprise for MANY years. As a developer, my use is frequent and intense. There are features of SQLyog that make it essential to my work. It is not the only database tool I use, but it is a must-have. The two tools I use daily are SQLyog Enterprise and EMS SQL Manager for MySQL. Each of these tools has features not found in the other. Together, they cover everything I need. SQLyog is the lean and no-frills one of the pair. The features to copy whole databases and tables from host-to-host are unmatched and make development fast and efficient. Make that three tools in my DB toolkit. I also use EMS MySQL Data Comparer -- think diff for MySQL data rather than diff on source code. I use SQLyog to slam databases back and forth from my development sandbox and deployment servers. In my sandbox I copy databases into "pre" and "post" copies of a database when I want to understand what a script/app is doing to data. I then use Data Comparer to diff pre/post which can produce a script to synchronize the data. Comparer can do the actual sync if you like, but that's not what I want. I then have a synch script to use as a protocol to write my own "direct to data" scripts that pop data into systems rather than go through the piecemeal user interface. (Systems like Drupal or other CMS frameworks often don't provide bulk programmatic generation of content.) Bottom line -- SQLyog rocks! Add the two EMS tools mentioned and you are good to go.

10 Steps up from phpMyAdmin
I bought the desktop version of SQLyog Enterprise and love it. I have it doing daily backup jobs for me through the GUI. I create databases and tables much faster than I would doing it by hand in phpMyAdmin. SQLyog's interface is much cleaner and not as confusing as phpMyAdmin's The schema viewer makes adding foreign keys a cinch.

Less Time & Less Work ==>> More Productivity
This beats phpMyAdmin hands down. Unlike one reviewer, I've found it neither crash prone nor unstable. As the ads say, "Your mileage may vary." I'd be quick to grant that there are FAR better SQL front-end options. However, they aren't implemented/allowed on GoDaddy. (That hasn't prevented me from trying to find loopholes, though!) Relatedly, for straightforward FTP, I've found FileZilla to be pretty good and far superior to the embedded counterparts in programs such as DreamWeaver (MX through CS4).

It's cheap but with lots of bugs!
I tried this tool because it's cheap. Its price is cheap and function is enough. However, it's very unstable and cause crash frequently. I will look for other MySQL GUI tools.
